Research Topics / Offer Research
The research activity of the members of the Department of Mathematics mostly focuses on the following areas:
- Diagnostics for assessment of pupil’s predispositions for solution of mathematical problems (doc. PaedDr. Petr Eisenmann, CSc.)
- Methodological improvements in data envelopment analysis and empirical quantitative research in diverse fields of economics (doc. Mgr. Ing. Martin Boďa, Ph.D.)
- General topology, topological groups and category theory (RNDr. Veronika Pitrová, Ph.D.)
- Ordered semigroups (RNDr. Martin Kuřil, Ph.D.)
- Phylogenetic and ontogenetic development of the infinity concept (PhDr. Magdalena Krátká, Ph.D.)
- Heuristic strategies in mathematical problem solving (PhDr. Jiří Přibyl, Ph.D.)
- Function spaces, theory of real interpolation, weighted inequalities (doc. RNDr. Bohumír Opic, DrSc.)
The Department of Mathematics is also active in the area of contract research with focus on the methods of applied statistics for the application sphere, public administration or research organizations. The Department also organizes seminars in statistical data processing and evaluation.
